Healthy Ageing Program

Brisbane Naturopath Sally Broadhurst has developed a healthy ageing program, based on her own family and friends health issues, she has been inspired to help others prevent chronic disease with a Naturopathic approach to healthy ageing.

What do you imagine your life will be like as you age?

Enjoying your retirement, spending your days in the garden attending to flowers and fresh, homegrown vegetables, playing with grand kids or perhaps travelling the world?

What if life turned out to be a different story? Being out of breath and out of shape, dealing with chronic illness, bad knees and a bad back or being too tired, frail and unwell to do much of anything?

Fact: Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women in Australia, with women being three times more likely to die of heart disease than breast cancer. Every day, 98 Australian men have a heart attack; 1 in 7 of these men will die. Now this isn’t written to scare you but to educate you about factors to be aware of that could affect your health as you get older. As you age there is a great need to ensure you take good care of yourself so you can enjoy a healthy and happy retirement.

Choosing preventive healthcare instead of waiting until something goes wrong is an invaluable investment in your health. You may not be able to prevent everything that comes your way in regards to your health, but there is plenty you can do to maximize your health potential to ensure you are taking the best care of yourself and reduce your risk factors for chronic diseases as you age.

Growing older is a part of life and one that you can embrace and enjoy. As you age, your body needs support in new and different ways than it did when you were a baby, a teenager or even when you were in your twenties, thirties or forties. I believe that illness is our body’s way of getting our attention,  that something isn’t right and we need to address it.  Why wait for something to go wrong before getting help to fix it? That's why I have developed a 3 consultation prevention based, healthy ageing package.

Initial consult : after filling out our healthy ageing health screen questionnaire, I chat with you, taking your full health history and discuss your current health goals and your healthy ageing health goals. Necessary pathology or genetic testing is discussed and ordered.


2nd consult
: Review test results, tailor a healthy ageing  treatment plan incorporating herbs, nutrients, dietary advice and lifestyle factors to help you achieve your healthy ageing goals.


3rd consult - Assess how you are going implementing your health plan. We set future goals and reviews and timings to re-check health markers and assessments.


Future appointments - I recommend quarterly appointments once you are implementing your healthy ageing plan for a wellness follow up and to modify according to any new events in your life and health.
